Job Summary:

This position will support multiple projects in the Clean Energy Community Initiative (CECI), which is part of the Grainger Institute for Engineering at UW-Madison. CECI focuses on advancing Wisconsin's clean energy transition by identifying community values and building a multi-sector network that includes industry, entrepreneurship, policy, research, and community. The goal is to position the state to secure diverse funding and develop a sustainable, evolving clean energy ecosystem while working directly with communities to meet their unique needs.

This position will develop and execute detailed project plans, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and on schedule. This person will track progress, resolve issues, and provide regular updates to the project manager, ensuring smooth project flow and successful outcomes.


Responsibilities:
Plans, analyzes, manages, coordinates, and tracks projects and quality improvement efforts for processes, procedures, and systems. Provides management consulting to improve organizational results.

  • 40% Develops, schedules, coordinates, and prioritizes project work plans in accordance with specifications and resource limitations
  • 30% Develops, enhances, and maintains operational standards and systems to support project teams
  • 20% Analyzes data and trends, compiles progress reports, and provides appropriate recommendations or conclusions
  • 5% Establishes, monitors, coordinates, and controls project budgets versus actual expenditures and budget reporting
  • 5% Serves as the initial point of contact for the project(s), serves on committees, and attends meetings representing the interests of the project(s)

Education:

Preferred
Bachelor's Degree
STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math), business, or a related field preferred.


Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

1 year project coordination experience or a conferred degree/certification in project management.

1 year experience with Microsoft or Google suite applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

At least one year working in higher education or non-profit setting.

Experience coordinating several long-term projects simultaneously.

Excellent organizational skills with a high attention to detail.

Excellent communication skills, particularly in situations with multiple stakeholders.

Experience in the clean energy, energy transition, or environmental justice sector.


Work Type:

Full Time: 100%

It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.
