Description

Idaho National Laboratory is hiring an Electrician to work in our MFC Electrical department. Our team works an onsite 4x10 schedule located out of our Materials and Fuels Complex (MFC) with every Friday off.

You will perform maintenance on electrical systems and components in a safe, efficient, and compliant manner, including the usage of human performance principles (HPI). You will report directly to the manager of the MFC Electrical department.

Responsibilities Include:



  • Participate in the work control process planning walk downs, by providing recommendations to the planner on hazard identification, hazard mitigation, technical information, task sequencing, resource requirements, equipment requirements, and other information to produce a work document that can be used in the field to accomplish the identified work scope.
  • Provide on-the-job training to other craftspeople, as requested by maintenance management.
  • Provide feedback to the foreperson on any training needs or improvements that promote better performance and identify any opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide feedback to the Planning Manager and Planning Lead on any recommended improvements to the work order documentation process.
  • Plan, implement, and complete special projects within area of expertise assigned by the foreperson.
  • Maintain and repair plant specific electrical equipment and systems including HVAC, GFCI's, motors and generators, battery banks and chargers, switchgear, motor control centers, transformers, voltage regulators, electronic governors, cranes and hoists, variable frequency drive control, lighting systems, and multiple power systems and controls.
  • Operate electrical conduit bending equipment, wiring fabrication, installation, basic hand, portable power, and shop equipment and tools. Install, connect, terminate, inspect, maintain, repair, and remove conductors.
  • Rack low and medium voltage breakers in and out of service. Calibrate, test, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical relay equipment.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:



  • High school diploma or equivalent and Journeyman electrical license.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "L" clearance, which requires US Citizenship.


Job Information:



  • Salary: (1) Introductory Pay: $38.62 /hour - (2) Fully Qualified Pay: $44.59/hr (Rate can vary based upon individual work location, clearances, and qualifications. Rates are accurate for current posting and subject to change. These are bargaining unit positions.)

  • TDP: This is a testing designated position; you will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and periodic drug testing throughout the term of your employment.
