SUMMARY

In collaboration with our Wholesale Sales team, the Account Representative will support day-to-day account management needs of our existing customers, working as a liaison between accounts and all internal departments to provide the Stumptown experience. They will work closely with our existing customers to strengthen relationships through regular engagement and grow customer revenue by finding incremental sales opportunities that match their needs with our Stumptown product and program offerings. The Account Representative will build productive, successful relationships with customers, with a focus on customer retention and positive revenue growth for their assigned market. This is an hourly, non-exempt position.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Account Management

  • Collaborate with the sales team to align and execute strategy for business retention and incremental growth in the market.

  • Provide account management and business consultation by acting as the main point of contact to customers with frequent touch points through calls, email and in person visits.

  • Regularly track customer sales performance, provide proactive outreach to drive sales of seasonal product initiatives, and identify upselling or cross-selling opportunities.

  • Introduce new accounts to Stumptown and guide them through their first order.

  • Act as a business partner to increase customer revenue through knowledge and utilization of all relevant Stumptown product offerings, launches, and programs.

  • Perform customer research to help inform outreach strategy and identify needs or areas of improvement.

  • Actively research and stay current on food, beverage, and coffee industry trends, businesses, openings, closings, and general news within the assigned market.

  • Review customers' coffee quality standards, evaluate businesses, making recommendations to enhance coffee programming.

  • Understand and speak to coffee brewing parameters and general equipment standards.

Administrative Support

  • Facilitate operational needs for customers, providing solutions while working with cross-functional departments to maintain customer satisfaction.

  • Troubleshoot customer order issues, and offer solutions that work for the customer and business, acting as liaison with the production team.

  • Assist in new account onboarding customers.

  • Monitor customer orders for timely delivery and accuracy.

  • Partner with planning teams to provide customer product forecasting.

  • Support events as Stumptown brand and sales representative.

  • Maintain data and log activity in ERP and CRM systems, ensuring customer information is up to date, and accurate.

  • Complete other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
  • None.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Passion and experience within Specialty Coffee, and Food & Beverage industry.

  • 2-3 years experience in Account Management, Cafe Management or Sales preferred.

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple work assignments in order to achieve assigned performance targets.

  • Excellent communication skills - written and verbal (in person, phone, video conferencing).

  • Proven ability to collaborate across different teams and individuals.

  • Expert ability to anticipate customer needs; knowledge of small business challenges and possible solutions.

  • Experience with Microsoft and Google suite applications.

  • Excel/Sheets and Word/Docs is preferred; experience in D365 and Salesforce is a plus.

  • Ability to work in the field, as well as intermittent out-of-state travel to other markets, may be required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Ability to sit continuously at a computer

  • Carry weight/lift up to 5 pounds frequently and up to 25 pounds occasionally

WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Work takes place in office and customer settings. This position is based in Los Angeles, California and will spend, on average, half of their time working on the computer and half of their time working in the field.

  • May occasionally require travel via car and/or airline (5-10%), standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time, and occasional overnight hotel stays.

  • Ability to occasionally work outside of standard business hours on an ad-hoc basis to address urgent business needs on weekends and evenings.
