Summary of Job Duties:The Alumni and Development Systems Specialist (ADSS) is a position within Information Technology Services that works directly with the Associate Vice Chancellor for Advancement Services and end users in the Office of Alumni and Development (Directors of Development, Annual Giving, Alumni Membership, Planned Giving, Major Gift/Campaign fundraising, Gift Services, and Prospect Research) to deliver technical services, reporting, integration, configuration, and custom programming in support of our end users' advancement/fundraising efforts. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy. Qualifications:

Required Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education and work experience

  • Experience in using JavaScript, Apex, and SQL

Preferred Education and/or Experience:

  • A bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Business Information Systems;

  • Experience with reporting/data analytics, data conversion, and relational database management systems;

  • Experience with Salesforce.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in the overall management, maintenance, and support of AdvancementRM an Affinaquest;

  • CRM that empowers higher education fundraising professionals to advance their mission, drive transformative impact and revolutionize constituent date;

  • Responsible for developing in Apex, Lightning Web Components, Lightning Design System, and other technologies to build customized solutions;

  • Create and migrate reports using Saleforce, Apsona, Excel and other SalesForce Apps;

  • Other Sales Forces Apps currently in use include: Apsona, Marketing CRM, Linvio, Own Backup and others;

  • Import and export data using various apps and tools including Apsona;

  • Troubleshoot all Alumni and Development support needed including but not limited to: software, hardware and VPN connections;

  • Create custom dashboards and reports in Salesforce and Apsona;

  • Customize Affinaquest page layouts for easier use by end users;

  • Utilize available tools to provide support for projects and report requests for the campus staff, administration, departments and units ensuring accuracy and optimal results will be achieved;

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of fundraising principles and practices;

  • Demonstrated success in enterprise-level software conversion and implementation project management;

  • Comprehensive knowledge and background in managing and analyzing data relating to fundraising principles and strategies;

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while having the ability to shift work seamlessly when priorities change;

  • Experience extracting, creating, and manipulating large data files;

  • Ability to interpret and analyze large amounts of data and draw appropriate conclusions;

  • Ability to communicate in technical and non-technical terms that support others in understanding processes and data requests;

  • Must have knowledge of either Apex or JavaScript and valuable to have knowledge of Visualforce, SOQL Query or SOSL Query;

  • Strong technical documentation skills;

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team;

  • Having the ability to truly understand the business processes and story behind the data, going beyond just the numbers;

  • Willing and eager for professional growth, a self starter/learner.
