Summary of Job Duties:The Radiology Assistant (RA)will serve as a physician extender for a team of UAMS subspecialized pediatric radiologist and manage the full scope of the weekday fluoroscopy schedule. Qualifications:
  • Certification as a Registered Radiology Assistant and license with the Arkansas State Medical Board are required. Certification and BLS.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Radiology & Imaging Sciences or related. Two years direct patient care experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Verifying appropriateness of requested fluoroscopic exams, identifying atypical exam considerations to review with supervising staff, selecting the appropriate contrast agent and route of administration and operation of the various fluoroscopic units.
  • Performs the diagnostic fluoroscopic exam independently with attention to radiation safety and be able guide incoming radiology trainees in performance of the core pediatric fluoroscopic exams.
  • Timely and accurate drafting of the fluoroscopic exam report will be required for supervising staff review.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
