Quality Nurse Specialist- Outcomes

Position Summary:


Serves as a clinical quality resource, and internal consultant to west region locations within the Quality Management System. Implements clinical quality tracking and reporting tools to enable the analysis of data relating to key indicators of clinical outcomes. Partners with designated areas in data collection, analysis and reporting of quality and performance improvement data. Participates in process/performance improvement, committees, and process/performance improvement teams. Assists in the development strategies to improve clinical processes, patient health outcomes, regulatory compliance and the cost-effectiveness of care.


Qualifications:


EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing within three (3) years or College Diploma in Nursing with five (5) years of Quality experience

CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS
Registered Professional Nurse (RN) License Illinois upon hire and Basic Certificate in Quality & Safety (IHI) within 1 year.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of 3 years hospital and/or ambulatory healthcare experience.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Exceptional communication and internal customer service skills. Experience collaborating with cross-functional clinical teams with the ability to effectively communicate with a diverse customer group in a complex environment.


Essential Functions:

  • Manage/coordinate and/or support data abstraction and submission for regulatory or Magnet reporting programs.
  • Assist with development or revision of quality goals, policies, procedures, protocols, and order sets to ensure evience based, consistent and customer focused care.
  • Measure, monitor and analyze timely and accurate reports, graphical displays and/or presentations to appropriate individuals and committees.
  • Utilize EMR and other appropriate computer programs as necessary to complete job responsibilities.
  • Facilitates data availability and integration into the performance of the organization.
  • Serve as a quality representative on committees/workgroups and support ongoing initiatives to help minimize risk and support ongoing evidence of effectiveness.
  • Perform other duties as assigned including nursing task if needed during times of high capactiy in the hospital.
