WHO WE ARE

Hotels done differently. It's not just a slogan or catchphrase, it is who we are in everything we do. We believe in the power of People, Place and Character; ensuring our properties are a place where individuals are valued and celebrated as a tribute to the neighborhoods and the people of the communities in which we operate; elevating our associates' pride in who they are, where they live and who we serve
A little bit rebel, a little bit refined, Clayton is smart and sophisticated, charming, and confident, and always down for shaking up the status quo. Consistently moving the needle on what a membership club can be, Clayton demonstrates a unique spirit, constantly challenging what it means to gather and engage while connecting guests to each other and what inspires them. Clayton believes the more interested you are, the more interesting you are!

Clayton Hotel + Members Club is managed by Aparium Hotel Group which was founded in 2011 by Chicago hospitality executive and entrepreneur Mario Tricoci and Michael Kitchen. The duo saw a clear need for a company that could bring c-suite service and accommodations to underserved, yet distinct and important cities while maintaining and celebrating the unadulterated character of each. Driven by the belief that all hospitality experiences should be fueled by the poetics of their surroundings, Aparium was born with an intense focus on unearthing the amazing moments unique to every city.

Since its founding, Aparium has grown into a new kind of hotel brand, one that ventures off the beaten path, both geographically and philosophically. It is a sophisticated hotel brand known for its singular ability to combine the business acumen of large hospitality companies with the charm of boutique hotels. At Clayton, the ideals of Opportunity, Equity, and Inclusion (OEI) for our members are at the forefront of the community and the environment we will create .

WHO YOU ARE

You are someone who understands the smallest details can make the biggest impact. You know hospital corners aren't just for hospitals, and the perfect crease on a bed sheet makes you smile. When you see a pair of loose shoes, you need to make sure they are perfectly aligned. You love feeling the warmth of freshly laundered linen. It doesn't matter where you are, you can't help yourself from refolding the bathroom towels.

Your past experiences have led you to understand that there is art + science to the how and what of preparing and caring for a hotel room. You enjoy the solitude of completing your daily board, but love seeing the smile on a co-workers face when they walk into their last room and find you've already made their last bed. No matter how crazy your day was, you always find time to make sure your cart is ready for the next day.

THE ROLE

The Housekeeping Houseperson reports directly to the Housekeeping Supervisor(s)/Manager(s). The Housekeeping Houseperson provides Room Attendants with the items needed to clean guest rooms and helps stock the carts. They are also responsible for more labor-intensive tasks, such as flipping mattresses, hanging pictures and moving furniture or debris. They also work closely with Hotel Supervisors to ensure that all room accessories and electronics are in working order. It's also the Houseperson's responsibility to comply with security regulations, restock the housekeeping shelves, and make sure that outside areas, like patios and public spaces, are kept clean, tidy and in working order.

Additionally, the Housekeeping Houseperson takes care of common areas in a hotel, such as the lobby, restrooms, and public spaces. Each hotel follows its own housekeeping guidelines and standards, which may depend on whether it's part of a large chain or a boutique inn. As part of the housekeeping staff, a Houseperson must be detail-oriented, have good customer service skills, be able to lift heavy items and understand cleaning basics.

This position will interact with everyone in the hotel so you must have strong and adaptable interpersonal skills, meaning you can get along with anyone. Another key need for this role is their ability organize drinks as customers place their order. Getting the details right for a client or guest can possibly make or break their experience.

Rate of Pay: $19.25 per hour
Benefits: We are pleased to offer a comprehensive array of valuable benefits to protect your health, your family and your way of life. All full-time regular associates are eligible to enroll in our benefit plans that include medical, dental, vision and supplemental insurances.
