Summary: Responsibilities: Other information: Licensure as Registered Nurse in the State of Rhode Island by the Rhode Island Board of Nursing or licensure as a Registered Nurse in accordance with the Nurse Licensure Compact agreement of the National Council of State Boards of Nursing. BASIC KNOWLEDGE:Baccalaureate in Nursing preferred. Certified Nephrology Nursing Certification preferred. Must have current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Rhode Island. Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to patients throughout the life span with consideration of aging processes human development stages and cultural patterns in each step of the care process. Must have good driving record meet and maintain the appropriate and valid driver*s license and insurance in order to operate a personal motor vehicle as required by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations. EXPERIENCE: Must have a minimum of 12 months of nursing experience and an additional 3 months of specialized dialysis experience providing clinical nursing care to dialysis patients in either a chronic or acute setting. Experience must include dialysis focus of renal and hematological systems such as managing fluid and electrolyte balances hemodynamics such as anemia management iron management bone disease management and being able to differentiate renal lab values from normal lab values. WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Visual and aural ability to monitor patient status. Physical ability to assist in lifting and positioning patients. Exposed to patient care environment. Physical ability for extensive walking and standing; lifting and positioning patients. Exposed to seasonal variations in weather including temperatures extremes and road conditions when traveling.
