Positions Location: Lansing, MI Job Description
General Purpose: Responsiblefor providing assessment, evaluation, and treatment of acute care, adult medical-surgical patients under the guidance of the Critical Care physicians. Essential Duties:
- Facilitates appropriate admissions to appropriate health system units by initiating orders, coordinating with appropriate attending physician, and moderating medication reconciliation process.
- Performs and dictates History & Physical, medical Consultation, Discharge Summary and SOAP notes as per Critical Care service standards.
- Assists with development of plan of care.
- Reviews diagnostic X-Rays, monitors lab values and other diagnostic studies.
- Performs daily rounds as assigned by Critical Care physicians.
- Communicates with physicians, nursing staff, residents and other members of the medical team to maintain current and accurate updates in patient status.
- Willingness to learn to perform procedures including intubations and the placement of central lines, chest tubes, and Quinton catheters.
Job Requirements
General Requirements |
* Current Michigan PA/NP license * BLS/ACLS |
Work Experience |
* Minimum of one year experience in acute hospital setting |
Education |
Graduate of an accredited PA/NP program. |
Specialized Knowledge and Skills |
* Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective plan of care. * Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively and appropriately communicate with patients, families, physicians and other hospital caregivers. * Computer skills appropriate for navigating current word processing, database, and networking programs. |
