Overview

The HR Generalist is a hands-on role that provides Human Resources support to NV5 business lines for the entire employee life cycle and acts as a point of contact for HR inquiries. The role is critical in executing our HR initiatives, providing great internal customer support, and driving HR functional excellence and process improvement. Successful candidates will be responsible for human resources-related duties at the professional level, including assisting in the following functional areas: onboarding, training, performance management, recognition, communications, payroll, affirmative action, and compliance.

NV5 is a provider of engineering and consulting services to public and private sector clients, delivering solutions through six business verticals: Testing, Inspection & Consulting; Infrastructure; Utility Services; Environmental Health Sciences; Buildings & Program Management; and Geospatial Technology. Responsibilities

    Maintains HRIS database (enter new hires, status changes, terminations, etc.).
  • Ensures accuracy of employee data within HRIS to maintain data integrity through data entry and auditing/review of data.
  • Maintenance of employee personnel files including creation of electronic files and import of documents to files.
  • Processes offer letter approvals, creates offer letters and coordinates welcome communication to potential new hires.
  • Actively support and ensure electronic onboarding process is coordinated with local offices and new hires for completion of welcome integration.
  • Assists managers and local office administrators to navigate company approval process, structure and documentation.
  • Creates important communication notices due to status changes when needed.
  • Collaborates with team members on initiatives and projects.
  • Assists Human Resources Manager to ensure compliance with federal, state and local employment laws, which will support the development of custom reports, systemizing processes and suggesting alternative approaches meet business needs.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.


Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or commensurate years of experience.

Skills and Experience

  • Diverse administrative experience in an administrative support role.
  • Elevated communication skills
  • Working knowledge HRIS systems, ADP Workforce Now preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software, including Excel, Word and Power Point.
  • Requires an acute attention to detail and compliance mindset.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with others and think independently.
  • Ability to "get the job done" and take responsibility for results without direct authority; ability to coordinate, facilitate and organize resources.
