Under the direction of the Seamless Access Work Queue and Denials Manager, the Seamless Access Denial Representative is responsible for maintaining assigned work queues and resolving, trending and escalating issues to their leader. Additionally, this role will be active in denials root cause analysis, denial prevention, resolution, and appeals management. Maintains a high level of knowledge in payer requirements and Work Queue resolutions.
Competencies (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required): Extensive computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Exceptional knowledge of medical terminology, insurance guidelines and requirements, denials and coding. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to create and maintain professional relationships with internal and external customers, prior experience utilizing EMR, EHR systems. Excellent customer service skills. Knowledge of data trending and analysis is preferred but not required. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: Education: GED or High School Diploma Required, Bachelorrsquo;s degree preferred or additional 4 yearsrsquo; experience in lieu of degree AND Experience: 4+ years progressive work experience in various positions within healthcare in the Patient Access and/or Patient Accounting Departments required. Prior experience in work queue resolution and/or experience in root cause analysis and denial prevention and appeals preferred. Covid Vaccination is a requirement for employment at Jefferson for employees working at Jeffersonrsquo;s clinical entities or at the University.
