Primary Function:

  • The Patient Outreach Representative (POR) is responsible for making daily outreach calls to patients who need outreach to schedule an appointment as a result of one or more (but not limited to) the following scenarios:
    • Patient No Shows for appointment
    • Patient Cancels appointment
    • Patient is due for an appointment as determined by the appointment reminder pool
    • Patient is due for an annual examination
    • Patient calls to close care gaps
  • The intended outcome of each outreach is to help patient make an appointment
  • Primarily working on the computer and on the phone in an office setting, the POR provides excellent customer service to patients in a manner consistent with Einsteinrsquo;s Standards of Behavior.
  • POR is responsible for verifying insurance, referral, and patient demographic information, calculates co pays, schedules appointments and provides patient with all the required information regarding the appointment.
  • Enhances patients experience by way of outreach and assistance in helping patients with their appointment needs
  • Communicates with the respective departments any relevant information with respect to patient appointment
  • Excellent prioritization, decision-making and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to learn and become proficient in Einsteinrsquo;s Electronic Medical Record and Scheduling System as well as other electronic systems that support patient appointment and referrals.

Education/Training/Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, plus two to three years related work experience and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment is required.
  • Experience delivering exceptional customer service and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment a must.
  • Candidates must possess knowledge/familiarity with office functions and procedures including Microsoft Office software, ICD-9 codes, medical terminology and HIPAA regulations
  • Experience using computer in an office setting and the ability to verbally communicate information to staff and patients in a professional customer focused manner required
  • General typing proficiency preferred, filing and reception skills, spelling, grammar and telephone etiquette skills are required
  • Phone experience making outbound calls preferred
  • Cerner experience preferred

Covid Vaccination is a requirement for employment at Jefferson for employees working at Jeffersonrsquo;s clinical entities or at the University.
