Be part of the Saint Therese difference! We are seeking a full-time Life Enrichment Assistant/Community Recreation Assistant to serve seniors with compassionate, supportive care at one of Minnesota's leading nonprofit senior housing and service providers.

Position available works 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., including working every other weekend and every other holiday.

Location Information

Saint Therese offers a continuum of care and services available in a person's own home or in one of our four Twin Cities communities: Brooklyn Park, Shoreview, Woodbury, and our newest location Corcoran!

Saint Therese of Corcoran is now open! This campus is full of social vibrancy in an urban setting, distinctive living spaces and a variety of amenities to create an experience the resident is looking for to create their future home. The campus will offer 153 independent, assisted living and memory care apartments. Amenities of the site include dining options, wellness center with pool, library, lounge area, golf simulator, salon, and wood shop area.

Responsibilities

Implement activity programs in all areas of the campus including independent living, assisted living, memory care, transitional care, and long-term care suites. Works closely with residents, families, and staff. Creates monthly activity calendars and coordinates activity programs to meet the needs of the residents. Decorates neighborhood seasonally. Documents on progress of residents quarterly.

Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent

Experience: Three to four years senior housing activities experience working with tenants with dementia preferred.

  • Skills in crafts, music, art, physical fitness
  • Knowledge of small group dynamics
  • Organizational skills
  • Ability to generate enthusiasm during activities and willingness to participate in special events.
  • Flexible working hours to meet the needs of special events.
  • Ability to learn and develop recreational and therapeutic skills.
  • Ability to work as a team member with all staff.
  • Ability to understand, read, and speak English Language
