POSITION SUMMARY

A Thermal Specialist works as a part of a team to set up and operate advanced machinery to manufacture parts to specified size and shape. This position requires setting up multiple machines that are data linked together to perform separate functions. This position has additional training time, due to the complexity of the equipment. The Thermal Tech's assigned team and task will vary based upon business necessity.

POSITION DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Set up and operate multiple data linked complex machinery in prescribed manner complying with all WWS safety policies.
  • Comply with safety, quality, and productivity requirements and procedures
  • Regular/dependable attendance required
  • Flexibility of work hours including overtime
  • Use of hand tools and machinery is required to maintain equipment
  • Must be able to work well with little or no supervision
  • Participates in WWS's Continuous Improvement efforts by understanding his/her team's performance and actively implementing and supporting process improvements.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ability to rotate to other positions as needed
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose machine set ups.
  • Other duties may be assigned

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; 0-1 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no supervisory responsibility.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

The associate is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The associate is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock, vibration, and seasonal high/low temperatures and humidity. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud, requiring hearing protection. Must be willing and able to comply with all plant safety regulations including wearing appropriate PPE when on the production floor

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Regularly required to stand, reach, bend, talk, hear and move about the facility. The employee is frequently required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 45 pounds. The employee must occasionally push up to 52 pounds and pull up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Tools and Equipment Used

PPE (Safety glasses, Protective gloves, Safety Shoes, Single Use Ear Plugs), metal rack, anti-fatigue mat, CNC machine, step stool, chop saw.
