Civil Structural Design Lead

CDI Engineering Site Team- Deer Park, TX

HYBRID WORK SCHEDULE: 4/10 work schedule with two days on site and two days remote.

Sr. Civil/Structural Designer will serve as both Lead Designer and Sr. Designer, overseeing a team of designers and developing civil and structural design drawings for refinery projects. This role involves managing the design team, coordinating projects, developing designs, integrating safety protocols and ensuring interdisciplinary collaboration. Additionally, the role includes responsibilities for job estimation and coordinating work sharing with HVEC partners.

Develops CADD drawings from design sketches or catalog information without supervision.

Performs basic engineering/design calculations, sizing civil/structural discipline and coordinates work with other disciplines.

Select, design and write specification and general notes for the civil/structural scope of work with out supervision.

Demonstrate a continuing consciousness of safety in daily activities and implementation of them in the work designed.

Marks up preliminary or existing drawings and sketches for others to draft.

Prepares simple engineering and construction drawings from scratch, from sketches, or from verbal instructions, utilizing manual or CADD drafting/Design techniques.

Perform related fundamental engineering support task such as updating computer lists, filing prints, distributing drawings, making simple calculations, proofreading reports, etc

AutoCAD and CADWorx 3D software experience is required, Advanced Steel expertise is a plus.

A minimum of 10 years of technical work experience is required.

Industry experience a must.

TWIC is required.

Ability to work on multiple small projects quickly and simultaneously while maintaining quality.

Ability to climb up on tall structures.

Ability to find a solution for or to deal proactively with work related problems.

Education/Degree Requirements: High school Education (or Equivalent), with additional basic drafting courses training from a vocational-technical school or other applicable programs.
