The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

Columbia Dining Services is a dynamic, progressive department in an exciting, fun environment with a customer-focused culture. We have an immediate opening for a Short Order Cook. Short Order Cooks interact with customers, as they create customized meals on our grill and cook to order stations.

The Short Order Cook prepares and cooks to order a variety of foods that require only a short preparation time. Takes orders from customers and serves patrons.

Responsibilities



  • Takes order from customer and cooks foods requiring short preparation time, according to customer requirements.
  • Completes order from grill and/or steamtable and serves customer.
  • Orders, receives and stores necessary food and supplies and maintains related records.
  • Complies with the rules of Dining Services in regard to production and serving.
  • Uses and maintains tools and equipment in a proper manner, including, but not limited to, steamtables, coffee brewing equipment and food display cases.
  • Cleans, prepares and keeps in order the area and equipment used in the job and other areas as assigned by the Manager.
  • Observes and practices safety standards.
  • Performs the duties of a Pantry Worker when necessary.
  • Performs related duties as required or assigned within job classification.



Minimum Qualifications



  • High School Diploma or its equivalent.
  • Previous experience as a Pantry Worker a plus.
