As a Powder Application Specialist, you will be responsible for working as a part of the Powder Applications team as a part of the Powder Regional Technical organization. The Powder Application Specialist will be focused on the application support that will be used to drive growth of PPG's Powder business across all segments. You will be located at PPG's Strongsville, OH plant, and report to the S&T Product Development Supervisor. Key Responsibilities You will work with the formulation team to determine application windows for both the development of new products and the testing and validation of existing products being tested for new uses. Support application trials and product launches by working with the Commercial and Business Development Teams to ensure success at the customer. 25% travel to customer lines for trials and launches 75% in Application Lab running lab projects and application trials for several products for powder markets Lead training sessions for PPG technical service reps and customers in the application of powder Understand how to take field observations into the Lab, work hand in hand with the field/customers in development of experimental design testing and analysis. Qualifications High school diploma required; bachelor's degree preferred. 5+ years of direct experience in powder coating application. Strong interpersonal skills. Identify root cause(s) using business process improvement tools.
