Overview Pep Boys is seeking a talented and motivated Design Manager to join our Construction Team. This role will primarily focus on utilizing AutoCAD or Revit software to support the design and construction of Pep Boys Automotive facilities. Major functions include production and management of store and divisional plans; Layout and calculate proposed scenarios following local Building Codes, and Landlord standards; Coordinate work with many entities of the business including Developers, Leasing Managers, Project Architects, etc. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of experience in AutoCAD and/or Revit, with a preference for individuals holding a Bachelor's Degree in a related field. Knowledge and experience in Building Information Modeling (BIM), Enscape, and AI technologies are highly desired.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Construction Team and other internal stakeholders to develop detailed and accurate design plans using AutoCAD or Revit software.
- Assist in the creation and modification of architectural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) drawings and details for Pep Boys Automotive facilities.
- Ensure adherence to design standards, codes, and regulations throughout the construction process.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architects, engineers, and contractors, to integrate design changes and resolve any conflicts.
- Participate in project meetings and provide design recommendations based on industry best practices.
- Conduct site visits as required to gather accurate measurements and assess project progress.
- Assist in the preparation of project documentation, including drawings, specifications, and reports.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and advancements in AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM technologies.
Qualifications:
- 2-5 years of experience in AutoCAD or Revit software, preferably in the automotive or construction industry.
- Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related field, preferred.
- Strong knowledge of building codes, regulations, and construction practices.
- Proficiency in Building Information Modeling (BIM) software and its application in the design process, preferred.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce accurate and high-quality design documentation.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Effective communication skills to effectively interact with stakeholders at various levels.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Willingness to travel to project sites as required; approximately 10-20% travel, if needed.
