Geotechnical & Tunneling Construction Manager

STV has an immediateopening for a Geotechnical & Tunneling Construction Manager for our Baltimore / Washington DC offices to join our Geotechnical and Tunneling group.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Responsible for oversite of all onsite and construction activities to monitor compliance with approved plans and safety regulations.

  • Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques.

  • Work with project team to identify, analyze, manage and mitigate risks.

  • Coordinate and direct project inspectors.

  • Review inspector progress reports on daily basis.

  • Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status.

  • Coordination of field engineering issues with technical staff and key stakeholders.

  • Close collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.

  • Ensure that all construction activities align with the established schedule and budget.

  • Available for Day and Night shifts during Weekdays and/or Weekends.

  • Must be able to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods of time.

Required Experience:

  • Project experience should include heavy civil underground structures such as cut-and cover and mined tunnels, caverns, shafts, underground structures such as substations and treatment facilities or other throughout the United States and Canada.

  • Minimumof 11years of experience in construction management of underground structures.

  • Undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering and/or Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering or related disciplines.

  • Professional Engineer (PE) is preferred yet not required.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Previous experience in supervising inspection teams.

  • Proven working experience in construction management.

  • Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods.

  • Expert knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards.

  • Advanced certifications preferred (NICET, ACI, etc.)

  • Understanding of all facets of the construction process.

  • Ability to plan and see the "big picture".

  • Competent in conflict and crisis management.

  • Leadership and human resources management skills..

  • Excellent time and project management skill.

  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Teams.

Compensation Range:

$109,063.00 - $145,418.00
