About the Role

The Morningstar Marketing Operations Team is looking for a Project Manager to focus on the optimization of operations within the Central Marketing department. This role will be responsible for building repeatable processes and workflows for the Global Marketing Operations Team. You will ensure that marketing initiatives are effectively coordinated, executed, and are of the highest quality, driving maximum impact and efficiency.

The ideal candidate is comfortable owning and driving project work, can work in a fast-paced environment, has a background using Agile methods, and can anticipate and solve problems within our growth organization.

This position is based in our Chicago office and hybrid attendance is required.

Job Responsibilities

  • Understand, adopt, and drive Morningstar's Agile Scrum framework
  • Provide thought leadership and drive process improvement for the marketing operations team
  • Jointly develop, implement, and document standards and definitions for marketing processes
  • Identify, design, and document scalable processes that enable the marketing team to be more effective in their daily work and drive alignment within the department
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure project deliverables are met on time
  • Monitor project progress and adjust plans as necessary
  • Develop and provide reports on key metrics on the velocity/performance/progress of marketing operations initiatives
  • Day to day incoming ticket management and grooming for Marketing Operations tickets
  • Provide communications to partners and stakeholders on a regular basis, representing the work of the Marketing Operations team
  • Work with team members to resolve issues and eliminate roadblocks
  • Be a champion and driver of standardized practices in the execution of marketing campaign deliverables
  • Be a strong partner throughout the entire Marketing organization
  • Comfortable preparing for, leading, and managing follow-up meetings
  • Create and oversee project timelines, tasks, budgets, responsibilities, proactively manage dependencies and deliverables
  • Training and onboarding of junior project coordinators

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 6 years' experience within the following areas:
    • Marketing operations and/or marketing automation
    • Project management
    • Marketing manager
    • Business analyst
  • Strong understanding of marketing channels and strategies
  • Impeccable attention to detail and attention to deadlines while handling many tasks
  • Passion for technology, excellent communicator, and a desire to learn and improve processes
  • Strong leadership, communication, time management, problem solving, and analytical skills with an ability to influence decision-making processes
  • 1+ years of experience in Agile development practices
  • Growth mindset, ready to dive in and learn as much as possible in your first 3 months
  • Leadership skills to take ownership of the marketing operations & cross-functional workstreams
  • Experience in Asana, Contentstack, Eloqua, or other project management tools
