Summary:

Goldbelt C6, LLC., is seeking an Interior Designer to support for The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to receive and evaluate project requests from CIO's (Centers, Institutes, Offices) and others within CDC. Candidate will clearly identify requirements for each project and make appropriate furniture, equipment, and finishes selections that meet CDC design and construction standards. Furniture and equipment selections will be recommended to CDC/AMSO staff and procurement will be reviewed, approved, and performed by CDC.


Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Take field measurements of existing building conditions as required at project locations at CDC campuses.
  • Verify job site/ field conditions at project locations as required to perform the work.
  • Assist with preparation of IGCE's (Independent Government Cost Estimates) for projects including researching and compiling data supporting estimates for quantity of labor, price of labor, and price of materials for design projects.
  • Obtain prices, assist with other furniture or similar costings as needed; create preliminary layouts; produce interior design and construction drawings in AutoCAD.
  • Maintain proper file management of the work and co-produce design specifications.
  • Provide guidance to furniture & equipment installers.
  • Visit job sites on a regular basis to confirm work is being properly installed in a timely fashion according to respective project schedules and notify CDC when work is not being performed in a timely fashion.
  • Prepare field reports and construction site reports documenting work progress and attend and participate in meetings relating to interior design projects and procedures.

Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • Experienced in leading interior design projects and editing project deliverables.
  • Knowledgeable in partnering with internal and external audiences in the development of response materials.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication in interpersonal exchanges.
  • Able to work well independently, be solution-oriented, and committed to customer and company success.
  • Demonstrate diplomacy and work professionally with highly educated, scientific customer in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent judgment and decision making, with strong analytical skills; business intuition and business acumen.
  • Advanced use of Adobe and Microsoft Office Tools (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Must be able to travel domestically.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design related field.
  • At least four (4) recent years of experience in Interior Design editing both electronic and print.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain CDC Public Trust Clearance.
  • Adequate experience in working with office furniture.
