Job Summary: The IT Innovation Manager (Manager) is responsible for researching and implementing Bi-Modal Mode 2 projects. The Manager works with stakeholders, firm leadership and subject matter experts, exploring new technologies and building solutions that do not necessarily align to the resources available to traditional project-led information technology (IT) teams. These exploratory projects can vary from small, basic projects to much larger, complex projects. The Manager is responsible for creating, maintaining and ensuring the effectiveness of policies needed for the Innovation Development team to complete their work. The IT Innovation Manager is also tasked with managing and mentoring the Innovation team within the information technology department. Job Duties:
- Investigates new, cutting edge technologies, and seeks new, innovative ways to implement them
- Familiarizes the IT organization with new technologies and techniques that could be utilized in the BDO environment to improve ongoing projects or existing systems or processes
- Ensures all Innovation projects adhere to secure development practices
- Works with the other IT development teams to align secure coding practices and standards, supportability, maintainability and scalability
- Ensures projects and systems in development are leveraging the latest trends, developments and techniques in technology
- Allocates resources while maintaining and controlling expenses
- Builds relationships across the spectrum of the firm's technical and senior leadership ranks to understand the needs and processes of the firm, with the goal of leveraging that information to guide future firm technical architecture, systems and processes
- Serves as the firm's technical liaison to BDO International in matters related to future technology systems, planning and direction
- Facilitates team meetings, providing meeting minutes and action items where needed, while ensuring timely follow-up and execution of deliverables
- Builds and maintains constructive working relationships with project team members, vendors and other departments involved with projects, systems, and IT strategies
- Other duties as required
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Performs all duties inherent in a managerial role, including recruiting, developing and managing staff
- Mentors Innovation team members to increase the overall knowledge, skills and maximize the potential of the team
- Supervises the daily duties, assigned tasks and other responsibilities of the Innovation team
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Education:
- High school diploma or GED, required
- Bachelors degree, required; focus in Computer Science or Information Technology, preferred
Experience:
- Five (5) or more years of experience with software development, including a broad technical background, required
- Standard project management methodology experience, required
- Supervisory experience in a project-oriented capacity, required
- C# programming language experience, preferred
Software:
- Microsoft Visual Studio, preferred
- Microsoft SQL Server, preferred

Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.
