Position:Patient Care Technician Department:Labor and Delivery Schedule:Per Diem ABOUT THE MATERNAL CHILD HEALTH/LABOR & DELIVERY DEPARTMENT AT BOSTON MEDICAL CENTER: Patient Care Technician in Labor and Delivery work across the unit from antepartum to within the Labor and Delivery triage Unit in order to provide the highest quality of care to our diverse patient population. POSITION SUMMARY: As a Patient Care Technician in the Maternal Child Health/Mother Baby Department, you will play an integral role in delivering exceptional care. Using our patient-centered care model you will be uplifted by a supportive nursing organization, and will be able to deliver the excellent care to your patients that they deserve. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform a variety of appropriately delegated patient care interventions for patients in the ED and their families. Clinical services could include, but are not limited to: obtaining vital signs, bathing and feeding, dressing wounds, assisting with hygiene, cleaning rooms and linens, and emotional support. Perform a variety of environmental and inventory activities to ensure a safe, clean, and appropriately equipped environment for patients, visitors, and staff in the ED. Contribute to the efficient operation of the ED, ensuring quality patient/family clinical outcomes.
