Position Overview: Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is seeking a Communications Dispatcher for the Daytona Beach campus. The Communications Dispatcher is responsible for the general operation of the Campus Safety & Security Communications Center. The position maintains responsibility for the control and direction of incoming and outgoing telephone calls, coordination of emergency conditions, the dispatch of internal communications, the monitoring of alarms and coordination of emergency service, and visitor information and assistance. The Dispatcher makes staff emergency notifications and launches the campus emergency notification system as required.
Schedule The Campus Safety & Security department is a 24/7 operation which must be staffed at minimum levels at all times. As such, unscheduled occasional overtime and/or shift changes are required as needed or when special university details occur. The work schedule includes weekends and holidays. The Communications Dispatcher may be required to work one or more of the following shifts: Please note, although this position could be assigned any shift, the likelihood of a communications dispatcher being assigned B shift is significant.
