Description

Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor - Join Our Team at People Incorporated!

Are you passionate about making a real difference in people's lives? People Incorporated is looking for a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor to join our team. In this role, you'll provide vital outpatient substance use services, supporting clients on their journey to recovery through evidence-based practices. Collaborating with community partners, you'll play a critical role in providing counseling, crisis intervention, and comprehensive assessments, empowering individuals, families, and communities to live healthier, more fulfilling lives. This role is community-based meeting clients where they are at this could include Outpatient clinics, encampments and same day assessments in the field. Great entry level position for newly licensed LADC seeking experience.

Schedule: Full-Time, Monday to Friday during regular business hours, primarily in person work with ability to conduct remote telehealth assessments.

Location: Twin Cities Metro Area

Hiring Range: $28.33 - $29.57 hourly, plus $2,000 hiring bonus

Main Job Duties:

  • Responsible for the development and implementation of client substance use services, ensuring documentation standards are met and addressing emergency situations as needed while demonstrating sound decision-making, discretion and problem solving skills at all times.
  • Completion of comprehensive assessments, treatment plans, admissions and discharges.
  • Actively participate in the substance use services providing leadership and clinical expertise with other team members and advancing the reputation of services provided.
  • Educate individuals in crisis and families within the context of the clinical assessment.
  • Maintain excellent working relationships with staff in hospitals and Emergency Departments, Detox Centers, local Police Departments, and other community resources.
  • Gather and report aggregate data regarding program participants for program needs related to individuals served.
  • Providing one to one support and skills training, individualized interventions and crisis management using a client centered approach
  • Ensuring individualized treatment strategies and skills development is consistent with client's needs and goals
  • Attendance is an essential function of this position.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree with a minimum of five years ADC experience; OR
  • Bachelor's Degree in a Social or Human Services field with a minimum of 4 years of ADC experience
  • Hold a current Minnesota Alcohol & Drug Counselor license and complies with the rules adopted under Minnesota statutes, chapter 148C.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in a Social or Human Services field with minimum of two years of ADC experience.
