Posting Summary
Rutgers University-Newark, an urban public research university and anchor institution, located in Newark, New Jersey, a city of promise, is seeking a Physician I for the Health Services. Reporting to the Director of Student Health Services, the position should be experienced and adept in women's health, mental health care, age-appropriate preventive health services, acute and chronic care, and treatment of accidents and other illnesses.

The Physician I should practice sensitive, holistic care, health education and counseling of patients and follow accepted clinical guidelines. A significant portion of the clinical duties will entail office gynecology.

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
  • Requires a current New Jersey physician license MD or DO including residency and board certification.
Certifications/Licenses

  • Medical License registered in the State of NJ
  • Board Certified

  • BLS/ ALS Certification within 3 months of appointment or willing to be certified
  • NJ DEA and CDS license


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Interest in and ability to conduct, preventive medicine, adolescent medicine and health education


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in college health setting preferred
  • Two (2) years of experience including particularity in women's health, general medical practice e.g., family practice preferred


Equipment Utilized

  • Computerized Health Records (currently Medicat)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, excel spreadsheets, Outlook, formulating reports and documents for quality improvement, medical equipment, electronic medical record, email, internet. EKG Machine and ultrasound
