Job Description Summary
The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Auburn University seeks to fill two nine-month tenure-track assistant professor positions beginning on August 16, 2025. Candidates in all areas of applied and computational mathematics will be considered. Candidates whose research focuses on partial differential equations and data-driven computational mathematics are desired.

The department has a PhD program and various MS programs, including a new MS program in Data Science. It has over 50 mathematicians/statisticians and more than 120 graduate students engaged in research in various areas of mathematics and statistics. Auburn University's strong research programs in a variety of areas present many opportunities for interdisciplinary research and participation in its various multidisciplinary programs. Minimum Qualifications
An earned doctorate in Mathematics by the appointment start date is required. Successful candidates are expected to pursue independent research and teach courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Postdoctoral research experience is required. Successful candidates are expected to be able to communicate effectively in English. Excellent writing and interpersonal communication skills are required. The candidate selected for this position must be able to meet eligibility requirements for work in the United States at the time the appointment is scheduled to begin and continue working legally for the proposed term of employment.
