Responsibilities

The Project Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for. You will be a part of a project team from kickoff to programming, schematic design and development of construction documents as well as construction administration up to project close-out. The Project ME will directly support our clients by providing technical expertise in the execution of complicated, multi-discipline, multi-stakeholder, and fast track projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Senior Mechanical engineer for mechanical engineering and design on projects;
  • Provide design in alignment with firm Quality Process Manual;
  • Coordinate with Project Managers for deliverables and Basis of Design;
  • Perform load calculations, systems design, cross-discipline coordination, and signing and sealing of contract documents;
  • Conduct LCCA Analysis
  • Mentor junior engineers and participating in in-house continuing education programs;
  • Coordinate with Department Head and Focus Leads for resource allocation;
  • Manage Construction Administration phase of a project including submittal review, RFI responses, and site visit proficiency;
  • Strong working knowledge of Revit, including ductwork design, piping design, coordination of family creation, Revit Schedules and sequences of operation;
  • Maintain an engaging positive and professional demeanor.

As a Project Mechanical Engineer you will be expected to have experience in the following areas:

  • Knowledge in scope definition, design schedule management, coordination with other disciplines, design document creation, and quality reviews;
  • RFP scope definition and resource estimation;
  • Perform engineering studies for highly technical clients whose details include but are not limited to phased system loading, payback analysis, and knowledge of industry trends;
  • Technical writing for engineering studies, Basis of Design documents, Sequence of Operations documents, and narratives for non-technical audiences explaining engineering concepts to facilitate decision-making;

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering
  • 10+ years of engineering experience in industrial design and construction industry with a current Professional Engineers license in the U.S.;
  • Technical writing experience and proficiency;
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as the primary engineering interface with multiple clients. This could be either as a Project Manager or as the Engineering Lead;
  • Proficiency in MS Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Proficiency in PDF tools such as Bluebeam Revu or Adobe Acrobat
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Revit
  • Proficiency in energy modeling using a IESVE or other current DOE-2 modelling software (ASHRAE 140 Compliant)
  • LEED AP preferred
