Maintenance Supervisor

Position Overview:

This position is directly responsible for the leadership, direction, administration and management of maintenance employees, procedures and equipment at their location. This includes safety and compliance, trucks and support equipment, maintenance policies and procedures, record keeping, inventory of parts, equipment and development of maintenance programs that align with management goals and progressive training initiatives for direct reports that foster and instill IDS principles. Employee must maintain compliance with all local, state and federal rules and regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Including but not limited to):

* Participate and exchange ideas in meetings and conference calls with the station General Manager, maintenance supervisors and mechanics. Keep the Regional Maintenance Manager informed of new developments;

* Ensure the maintenance department is focused on achieving optimal equipment service, conducts regular equipment checks, maintains essential and up-to-date recordkeeping and is capable of utilizing their equipment to maximum potential;

* Responsible for staying current on the maintenance program software. This includes reading service bulletins, preparing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, managing inventory, follow through on warranty claims and calibration of tools;

* Responsible for staffing, training and development of employees including performance management, team leadership, succession planning, conducting interviews, and employee relations;

* Communicate frequently with the Operations Supervisors on any maintenance issues, equipment failures and/or employee issues. Review and make recommendations for preventing further occurrences. Report on the maintenance operations of the station. Also inform and provide any necessary documentation to the General Supervisor of Maintenance on all equipment failures, parts and facility issues and new manufacturer/regulatory policies;

Required Skills and Experience:

* Aviation Management or related field with a minimum of three years of experience in managing a deicing maintenance operation or an equivalent combination of education and experience;

* Proficient within Microsoft Office suite programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel);

* This position requires a broad range of mechanical and management experience including but not limited to deice trucks, GSE equipment, service vehicles, tractor/trailer, industrial pumps and hoses, storage facilities, fuels, fluids, facility requirements and safety/regulatory requirements;

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to listen to others and value opinions, interpret information, promote and execute ideas, preparation of reports and presentations and promote an environment of open communication;

* Capable of interacting with all levels of internal and external stakeholders;

* Must be a team player with ability to lead team in meeting goals, identifying areas of strength within a team, build and maintain work teams and relationships, and follow through to be sure that deadlines are met and success/failures are identified following each task assignment;

* Ability to assist General Manager in managing project tasks assigned to his/her location to include follow up with team to outline progress on assigned tasks, provide regular updates to the Maintenance Manager on any concerns or new information, and be an active participant for the successful completion and involvement of the team project;

* Ability to mentor, coach and lead employees, mechanics and other assigned staff for further growth and development;

* Direct and manage all aspects of the maintenance department with ability to identify ways to improve and progress for process improvement. Develop goals and objectives for the maintenance department and employees;

* Effective time management and organizational skills with ability to manipulate multiple projects and meet conflicting deadlines timely;

* Actively promote adherence to safety practices and programs and hold site employees accountable for

* leading safety and compliance in the workplace. Work in a safe manner and lead by example in the context of performing the functions of this position;

* Compliance with all applicable environmental laws and permits;

* Must be able to speak and hear efficiently;

* A valid driver's license is required for this position.

Work Environment:

* Physically strenuous, prolonged periods of time standing with exposure to noise (may be excessive at times), safe but potentially unpleasant odors, varying temperatures and humidity, in and around heavy moving equipment.

Physical Demands:

* While performing duties of this job, employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; speak clearly and hear efficiently;

* Employees must occasionally lift and/or move up to, or in excess of 100 pounds;

* Employees must have the ability to climb 15- foot heights for work;

* Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
