Job Summary:
Wisconsin Public Radio is looking for the next Managing Producer for Wisconsin Today, our weekday program that focuses on news, in-depth stories, and community across Wisconsin. The managing producer shepherds broadcast and digital content on Wisconsin Today by approving pitches, assigning content, and scheduling topics. They also schedule and manage the performance of a team of content producers while collaborating with hosts, technical directors, and related staff. This person is an excellent communicator and problem-solver who works well on deadlines and has an eye for detail. This position reports to the Executive Producer of Wisconsin Today, and they will partner with the EP to execute on the vision and mission of Wisconsin Today. The person in this role may work an in-person, remote, or hybrid schedule, depending on needs. The role is based in our offices in Madison, Wisconsin. Responsibilities: Provides leadership for broadcast and/or digital content, programs or projects and their teams, including strategic and long-range planning, evaluation and development of pitches and content, staff performance coaching and feedback, creating and communicating goals to staff, and coordinating production, administration, procedures and agreements.
