In this role you will operates as an advanced-level Research Scholar by assisting departmental personnel with the development and execution of state-of-the-art techniques for clinical or preclinical biomedical imaging research in the Department of Diagnostic Imaging. Properly conducts specific projects as assigned, including but not limited to the acquisition and analysis of imaging data. Performs other duties as assigned or directed, including but not limited to support specific research projects initiated by Diagnostic Imaging faculty members, in order to meet the goals and objectives of the department.
Job Description

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assists in the development, optimization and maintenance of imaging data transfer, storage, processing and analysis solutions for the Department of Diagnostic Imaging. Reliably implements assigned project(s) with minimal supervision. Assists in experimental design; under supervision modifies or adapts existing or new programs to the specific needs of the project within the established parameters. Keeps accurate, dated records of experiments and other research datasets used. Schedules and completes work assignments in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Assists in the development of imaging data processing pipelines and analysis tools for biomedical imaging research studies. Under direction, may develop/adapt software tools for imaging data analysis and visualization. Assists in the management of large data sets.
  • Acquires knowledge relevant to the field of research. Interacts with department personnel and develops an awareness of departmental research areas. Reads and critically evaluates current scientific literature pertaining to on-going projects. Attends relevant workgroup meetings, seminars and demonstrations. Under direction, pursues other scientific accomplishments to demonstrate exceptional merit.
  • Participates in efforts to present and/or publish results of research projects
  • Maintains regular and predictable attendance
  • Performs other related duties as assigned in order to meet the goals of the department and institution
  • Complies with all pertinent regulatory requirements to conduct research in human subjects and animals
  • Complies with all institutional policies

Minimum Education and/or Training:

State the minimum education and/or training required.

  • Master's plus 2 years post-doc experience as Research Tech or equivalent. Or Bachelor's plus 3 years post-degree experience as Research Tech or equivalent; or a PhD in biomedical engineering, electrical engineering, physics, or computer science or MD (no additional experience required)

Minimum Experience:

  • Two (2) years of post-degree related work experience is preferred

Compensation

In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws, St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $54,080 - $94,640 per year for the role of Diagnostic Imaging Research Analyst.
