Decontamination Tech

  The Decontamination Tech collects biohazard waste, replaces sharps containers, picks up soiled linen throughout the hospital, and cleans equipment necessary for patient care (pumps, commodes, seizure pads, stretchers, etc.). This position requires the candidate to be on their feet most of the shift as required and be able to help transfer patients from beds to stretchers and wheelchairs.

  
  

• Distributes linen throughout the hospital when necessary.
• Receive information from the coordinator regarding the type of task to be done. (This can be Biohazard pickup and sharps container replacement, Patient Transport, Lab Transport, Linen Delivery, Supply Transport, Morgue Transport, Etc.)
• Complete the assignment promptly, notify dispatch of completion, and receive new information regarding the next assignment.
• Complete quarterly equipment cleaning.
• Attend monthly meetings.
• Other duties and tasks as needed.
