University of Arkansas - Pulaski Technical College at North Little Rock is an integral part of the Arkansas Technical and Community College System maintained by the State of Arkansas. The college is governed by the University of Arkansas System Board of Trustees and a seven-member Board of Visitors and derives its support largely from student tuition and fees and legislative appropriations.

https://uaptc.edu/adult-education Summary of Job Duties:o Recruit and Tutor a minimum of 10 unduplicated,
economically disadvantaged adult learners in Basic Literacy
and/or English as a Second Language (ESL)

o Recruit and Train 5 new volunteer tutors for tutoring or
assisting in providing workforce skills training.

o Assist with the assessment of students

o Assist at least 5 students in receiving WAGE
certifications.

o Provide a minimum of 5 community presentations to raise
awareness about adult education and literacy.

When called upon, Members may be asked to support
disaster response and/or recovery efforts as needed by the
State of Arkansas.

In the event of a COVID-19 emergency declaration,
Members may engage in the following activities: provide
virtual tutoring support for students learning from home,
plan and provide virtual mentoring activities, assist with
classroom/equipment sanitization, assist with student
health entry screening. Qualifications:

oMust be 18 years or older when applying
o Must have obtained a high school diploma, GED or working
towards receiving it by the end of their first year of service
o Satisfy the National Service Criminal History Check Criteria

o Knowledgeable of the adult education and literacy council
missions
o Will be required to complete Criminal History Background
Checks
o Reading Skills
o Ability to meet and socialize with diverse groups
o Ability to participate and speak at community events as a
representative of their host site and AmeriCorps.
o Maintain a flexible service schedule

Additional Information:

Must work 20 hours a wee

The selected candidate will receive a stipend on the 15th and 30th of each month.

The selected candidate will also be eligible for an education award.
