Optum is seeking is a Executive Assistant with exceptional communication, proactive planning and thorough organization skills. In this position, you will support both the Chief Executive Officer and the Chief of Staff of an Optum Business Unit, while enjoying long-term career growth opportunities in a fast-paced, positive and collaborative team environment.

This position requires outstanding skills in the areas of relationship building, communication, and partnering closely with other leaders' assistants, as well as with professionals at all levels in the organization. This position can be based in Eden Prairie, MN or New York, NY and will work onsite at the Optum office in either location.

Primary Responsibilities:


  • Provide day-to-day administrative support with proven attention to detail and sound judgement in a timely manner consistent with the highest level of performance and professionalism
  • Effectively communicate with C-suite executives, their executive assistants and colleagues while building effective relationships and operating as a team player
  • Management of the CEO's calendar and meeting scheduling, exercising judgement to ensure conflicts are prioritized effectively
  • Be a workflow manager by knowing when deliverables are due and deadlines are met
  • Proactively reach out to colleagues across the organization to obtain necessary information and materials
  • Plan onsite and offsite meetings with internal and external stakeholders, and manage logistics, including schedules/agendas, addressing technology requirements, virtual meeting links, meeting materials, catering, etc.
  • Monitor mail, email and identify urgent requests
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information with the utmost of discretion
  • Create and edit Microsoft Office documents ensuring quality and accuracy
  • Answer incoming requests for information; build knowledge base to be able to share answers or make the appropriate connections elsewhere
  • Maintain a high level of organization and attention to detail
  • Work independently, take initiative, anticipate needs and problem solve proactively
  • Coordinate domestic and international travel, prepare detailed travel itineraries and process expense reports
  • Create a welcoming environment for guests and employees
  • Assist in addressing general policy and procedure issues
  • Contribute to ad-hoc projects as needed
  • Provide occasional support to other members of the executive team as needed

Required Qualifications:



  • High school diploma or GED
  • 7+ years of general administrative support experience
  • 3+ years of experience supporting C-suite leaders within a global, complex and fast-paced Fortune 500 organization
  • Experience managing multiple priorities with dynamic business needs while effectively prioritizing to meet deadlines and deliver high quality results
  • Experience making complex travel arrangements and coordinating large meetings across multiple time zones, including large group Teams virtual meetings, teleconferences and in-person all-day offsite events
  • Experience working independently, taking initiative, anticipating needs and problem solving proactively
  • Experience managing critical business information with confidentiality and discretion
  • Experience successfully collaborating with peers and colleagues in a team environment
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications including experience using Microsoft Outlook for email management and complex calendar management such as meetings, travel and conferences

  • Experience supporting C-suite leaders within a global, complex and fast-paced Fortune 50 organization

New York Residents Only: The hourly range for New York residents is $23.22 to $45.43 per hour. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
