The Manager, Software Engineering will provide leadership, support, and strategic direction for laboratory information systems and supporting platforms in multi-hospital environment. * Please note this is a Hybrid opportunity. The position requires three days of work on site in our Chantilly, VA labroatory. The other two days will account for work from home.
- Review of the product architectural design, requirements specifications, and test specifications
- Technical assessment of the impact of any changes to product requirements
- May require 25/30% design, coding, unit testing, and code review as needed.
- Design, configure, debug, and deploy software within the scheduled timeframe
- Provision of day-to-day technical guidance to other members of the project team
- Highlight, review and mitigate technical risks
- Resolution of technical issues in conjunction with team members
- Determine and/orapprove estimates for development tasks
- Provide the project team with support and guidance on project specific processes, procedures, tools, and techniques
- Technical point of contact with Test and Documentation, responsible for delivery of required technical information
- Ensure that designs, code, and unit tests are consistent, robust, and scalable
- Delegates tasks to, organizes, mentors and motivates a team of resources
- Contribute to the continued improvement of the organization's development procedures by looking for opportunities for improvement and implementing solutions
- Fosters a culture of continuous improvement in all areas of technology and instills the principles of this culture in a team of resources
- Follows, and assures team adherence to Quest policies and procedures framework
- Identification of technology training requirements
- Work with Director in the development and administration of the departmental budget
- Steward of process improvement initiatives
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's polices and applicable laws
- Responsible for interviewing potential candidates, hiring, training, oversight of daily activities and performance appraisals of his/her employees
Education: BS/BA degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or related field including MLT, MT Required Work Experience:
- Demonstrate how you've leveraged Customer Experience processes to act as an advocate for customers
- At least 5 years of experience working with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS)
- 5 to10 years of programming experience in JAVA, Angular, VB., .NET, C++, Python
- Experience in coaching, mentoring and/or training other team members
- Minimum 5 Years of people leadership experience
