Requisition Id13111 Overview We are seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate who will reside in the Triple-Axis Spectroscopy Group in the Neutron Scattering Division (NSD), Neutron Sciences Directorate (NScD) at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). NScD operates the High Flux Isotope Reactor (HFIR), the United States' highest flux reactor-based neutron source, and the Spallation Neutron Source (SNS), the world's most intense pulsed accelerator-based neutron source. Together these facilities operate 30 instruments for neutron scattering research, each year carrying out more than 1,000 experiments in the physical, chemical, materials, biological and medical sciences. HFIR also provides unique facilities for isotope production and neutron irradiation.To learn more about Neutron Sciences at ORNL, please go to this link:http://neutrons.ornl.gov As part of a team, you will explore materials exhibiting an interplay of spin, lattice and, charge degrees of freedom through elastic and inelastic neutron scattering experiments combined with external pressure. Additionally, this position provides an opportunity for you to contribute to the advancement of neutron scattering methods with emphasis on high pressure measurements of quantum materials. This work will be conducted collaboratively with other scientists within the Neutron Scattering Division, providing an opportunity to work in a stimulating multidisciplinary environment.
