Job Description

Work on the design, development, fabrication, modification, assembly, installation and/or testing of various mechanical, electro-mechanical, electronic, electrical apparatus and equipment, software, and chemical & physical processes and materials under development within an engineering or manufacturing facility. You will identify fundamental processes, design test methods and protocols, collect and interpret experimental data, perform systems integration and final testing to ensure reliable and world-class product delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Uses test results to determine fundamental development focal areas, and needed engineering tasks and skills to move these focal areas to completion.
  • Sets timetables and milestones for assigned project tasks.
  • Constructs and applies appropriate acceptance criteria for equipment and or process purchases.
  • May direct responsibility for project creation, timeline and management of project capital/expense.
  • Works closely and cross-functionally with other engineers, scientists, technicians and manufacturing personnel to produce end product.
  • Interprets internal or external business requirements and recommends best practices. Anticipates internal and/or external business challenges and/or regulatory issues; recommends process, product, or service improvements.
  • Solve unique and complex problems that have a broad impact on the business.
  • Performs work that is technically advanced. Responsible for solving highly technical or complex problems on a regular basis.
  • Initiates own assignments; provides direction and input to subsystem and system-wide designs.
  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience; may direct the work of other staff members in a mentoring capacity.
  • Is recognized as an expert in own area within the organization.
  • Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or similar discipline relatedto functional work or role
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of electrical systems and the proven ability to troubleshoot and diagnose issues with electronic components.
  • Understanding of fundamental mechanical systems, and their function and design
  • Experience in a Print, Coating, and/or Converting Operation
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects of over $250K
  • Experience leading or facilitating preventative maintenance programs
  • Understanding of PLC's
  • Specific experience with wide-web coating and converting, manufacturing such products as pressure sensitive materials, or specialty coated films and/or papers.
  • Project Management Certification
  • Lean Six Sigma Training (Black Belt, Green Belt)
  • Total Quality Maintenance training and experience
  • Specific experience with drive control systems, such as Parker, Siemens, or Allen Bradley
  • Demonstrated experience with Designs of Experiments

Additional Information

Thenational pay range for this role is $68,600 to $112,900 / year. The payrange may beslightly lower or higher based on the geographic location of the hired employee. The actual pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to: education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift and location. In addition to base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include participation in a bonus, commission or incentive program.
