Primary Purpose:

Supporting the Core Values of Passion, Teamwork and Excellence and under the direction of the EHS Director, the Risk Engineer is responsible for managing compliance with Trivium Loss Control Standards and continuous improvement in areas of Human and Operational Risk mitigation across North and South America locations.

Essential Duties, Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

* Participate in further development of the Trivium Packaging loss prevention approach to achieve a long-term vision and framework for Risk Management.

* Help business units to create strategies in company-wide risk identification, investigation, mitigation and risk reduction activities.

* Regular site visits to Americas plants (audits, project management, incident investigation, training, etc.)

* Where needed provides support in Loss Prevention/Risk activities, including (but not limited to):

o Trainings

o Risk assessments

o Implementation of standards and procedures

o Internal audits (Trivium standard, other, etc.)

o Cross audits and support to other operations when required

o Developing Trivium standards and support documents

o Arranging meetings

o Monitor risk activities/systems

o Coach plants and regional teams on Loss Prevention and Risk Management

* Challenges (Plant) Management to implement BU initiatives, reach the Trivium Leading Indicators, and other relevant BU topics

* Support site teams and other stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes on insurer risk audits and other risk identification exercises.

* Promote acceptance of risk awareness at all levels of management and staff.

* Highlights areas of concern related to Risk with the Plant Managers and/or General Managers.

* Checking quality of incident investigation management reports and provide continuous guidance where required.

* Supports high quality reporting of monthly Loss Prevention KPIs.

* Lead the implementation of an embedded program for the identification, evaluation and treatment of risk with a special focus on property risk, business interruption risk, and machinery breakdown risk.

* Continual updates to the Trivium group risk register.

* Develop, Initiate, maintain, and train on all Internal Loss Control programs.

* Assure compliance to all Trivium Loss Control Standards and External compliance with applicable NFPA, FM global standards.

* Establish proactive and cooperative relationships with Insurance & regulatory agencies.

* Prepare and present detailed financial analysis including project budgets, schedules, ROI analysis and forecasts.

* Prepare, submit, and support project related Capital Appropriation Requests (CARs)

* Lead implementation, start-up and commissioning of new technology, equipment, and manufacturing processes within Trivium facilities.

* Shall understand the Food Safety Policy, GMP's, HACCP Principle and Food Safety Standard.

* Assists Risk related investment & strategic planning.

* Skilled in regulatory/Insurance (both local municipality and State) interactions.

* Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Power Point).

* Problem solving skills

Education & Experience:

* 7+ years of experience in managing risk control projects/programs required.

* BSc/BA in Civil, Mechanical, or Fire Safety Engineering or relevant field.

* Experience with facilities maintenance - electrical distribution systems, sprinklers, composite panels, etc.

* Understanding of property loss control, business interruption, risk engineering and property underwriting is an advantage

* Experience with Furnaces, Dryers, Industrial Ovens and Regenerative Thermal Oxidizers

* Relevant knowledge of applicable NFPA, FM Global standards.
