Utility FS Electric 1st shift

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Substitute Manufacturing Leaders in operational activities when needed in case of abnormal conditions or in a scheduled way, to free his/her time for proactive activities.

Maintains all operations within a specified area, ensuring area safety procedures are being followed, managing quality issues, reducing downtime, reducing rejected materials, proactively coordinating material staging, scheduling, and flow. Supporting team members in area to perform their duties in a safe quality driven manner. Identifying team member issues and addressing them in a timely manner, assuring area preparedness. Must effectively communicate with team members both within and outside of the given area.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensures adherence to standard work and JDS by team members.
• Assures all needed equipment and tools are in area for team members
• Encourages open communication and team member engagement
• Seeks all available resources to support activities and assists team members in a timely manner
• Ensures area runs in a cost-effective manner (proper manning, line speed, scrap, etc.)
• Leads by managing downtime, using visual management tools, applying EMS tools, and ensure smooth transition and accurate use of parts for all changeovers.
• Monitors, maintains, and communicates all production concerns, seeks support with critical issues

QUALIFICATIONS AND BASIC SKILLS:

• High School diploma or GED
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
• Excellent attendance record in previous positions
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office or similar software program preferred
• Strong commitment to safety and continuous improvement
• Experience in successful team building and employee motivation.
• If internal candidate, must have achieved EMS Yellow Gear certification within 12 months of accepting position
• Bilingual ability is a plus
• Ability to bend, stoop, grip, reach and lift to 40 lbs. on a repetitive basis.
• Able to stand most of the shift to perform duties.
