Summary:

You must be an astute Sr. Manager Human Resources (SMHR), with experience in the management of labor relations, administration of employee programs, change management, employee engagement strategy, leadership development, performance management, HR laws and regulations, HR policy management. You are also a dynamic manager, who always acts with integrity and discretion to ensure your role as a trusted advisor.

Develops policy and directs the HR activities and staff involved with developing and maintaining human resources procedures, programs and policies relating to all phases of the human resources functions such as employment, compensation, labor relations, benefits, training, and employee services. Designs, implements and monitors a variety of HR programs. Anticipates and plans for long-term human resource needs and trends in partnership with business management. Supports the Vice President/General Manager of a Strategic Business Unit and the Vice President of Human Resources and Administration in meeting both corporate and division business objectives.



Major Position Responsibilities

    Manages the human resources function of an organization
  • Oversees execution of human resources policies and programs, which may include recruitment and onboarding, training and career development, employee relations, and compensation and benefits planning
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including EEO, FMLA, and FLSA
  • Assists line managers in the application of HR programs to departmental operations
  • Answers employee/candidate questions about HR policies and offerings
  • Leads and directs the work of other employees and has responsibility for personnel actions including hiring, performance management, and termination with concurrence from HR & Senior Leadership


Basic Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree
  • 7-8 years experience
  • Or equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field from four-year college or university
  • Experience in a Union manufacturing environment, including multishift organizations
  • HR experience with companies supporting 500 or more employees
  • Human Resource Certifications PHR and/or SHRM-CP
  • Bilingual - fluent in Spanish, written and verbal

  • Strong computer skills, administrative data control, scheduling and team interface

  • Must be able to possess strong, planning, execution and multitasking skills and have demonstrated ability to reprioritize and quickly adapt to changes

Other Requirements:

  • Proficiency with MS Office 365 tools
  • Willingness and ability to drive to and support three (3) area locations
  • Previous work with Universities and/or Technical Schools to support and develop workforce pipelines
  • Experience in Talent Acquisition systems (i.e. iCIMS)
  • Experience and understanding of HRIS systems (i.e. PeopleSoft)
  • Experience with regulatory strategy and reporting, including AAP, I-9, EEO, Pre-Employment process, OFCCP and EEOC requirements
  • Professional demeanor and presentation skills for frequent customer meetings, presentations, and site visits
