Major Duties
Classification: Exempt, Non-Bargaining The Capacity Workload Planner is a critical role, responsible for managing and optimizing the availability of workforce resources within our internal systems. This professional-grade, analytical role requires a strategic thinker capable of making data-driven decisions that impact job booking, resource allocation, and hiring recommendations. The Capacity Workload Planner will work closely with dispatch, field leadership, and other stakeholders to ensure that technician capacity aligns with customer demand, considering various factors such as geographical locations, holidays, timeframes, day-of-week trends, direct sales activities, and promotional events.
Responsibilities
Capacity Management:

- Manage and maintain the internal system controlling job booking dates based on available manpower.
- Adjust capacity parameters in real-time to reflect changes in workforce availability, ensuring optimal resource allocation and job scheduling.
- Ensure that all technician schedules, skill sets, and start locations are accurate and up-to-date, reflecting any changes due to administrative tasks or unforeseen events.
- Routinely coordinate with field leadership to schedule and document all necessary administrative activities, ensuring minimal disruption to operational capacity.
Trend Analysis:

- Conduct and Utilize trend analysis to predict future capacity needs and adjust manpower availability accordingly.
- Develop and present reports and dashboards that highlight key trends, potential bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Monitor and analyze trends in job bookings, technician availability, and service demands to make informed decisions.

Decision-Making and Recommendations:

- Collaborate with dispatch and field leadership to make strategic decisions regarding capacity management, including hiring recommendations based on capacity needs.
- Provide actionable insights and recommendations to optimize workforce distribution and reduce capacity constraints.
System Management and Optimization:

- Ensure that the capacity planning system is up-to-date and accurately reflects current and projected workforce availability.
- Identify opportunities for system enhancements and process improvements to streamline capacity management and increase efficiency.
- Collaborate with IT and other departments to implement system updates and enhancements.
Stakeholder Collaboration:

- Serve as the primary point of contact for capacity-related inquiries and issues, providing guidance and support to dispatch teams and field leadership.
- Work closely with sales, marketing, and operations teams to align capacity planning with business objectives and promotional activities.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings to share insights and collaborate on strategies to improve overall operational efficiency.
Performance Monitoring:

- Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to capacity planning and workforce utilization.
- Continuously monitor the effectiveness of capacity planning strategies and make adjustments as needed to meet operational goals.
- Provide regular updates to senior management on capacity planning performance and any potential risks or challenges.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience in capacity planning, workforce management, or a similar analytical role.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in trend analysis, forecasting, and data-driven decision-making.
- Proficiency in capacity planning software and workforce management tools.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel and other data analysis tools; experience with database management systems
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex data and insights to a non-technical audience.
- Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, with a proven track record of making impactful decisions under pressure.
- Knowledge of the telecommunications industry and experience in dispatch or field operations is highly desirable.

Salary
Pay range (commensurate with skills and experience): $46,198 - $70,023
