$37,050-$65,000 Application Window Open date: September 23, 2024 Most recent review date: Friday, Nov 15, 2024 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Final date: Monday, Dec 23, 2024 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Position description The Department of Surgery at the University of California, Los Angeles is conducting an open search for part-time Project Scientists (non-tenured, assistant, associate, or full level rank) interested in joining the UCLA Endocrine Surgery Research program to advance in the field of endocrine surgery. The UCLA endocrine surgery research program is a two-year, part-time research experience for general surgery residents who are currently enrolled in an ACGME-approved residency program. Criteria for the Project Scientist Series: Duties: The position will perform independent research under the direction of the Principal Investigator. The Project Scientist will also be responsible for helping to supervise graduate and undergraduate student researchers, preparing manuscripts for publication in scientific journals, and assisting with the preparation of grant proposals. The program will work with the project scientists to submit their work to national conferences, and will fund travel and accommodations to allow the project scientists to present their work. Additional Duties: * Ability to work on multiple projects efficiently and effectively. Ability to work independently on scientific projects. Assist with preparation of grant proposals. Requirements: Candidates must have completed 2+ years of clinical training from an ACGME-approved residency program, before the start date of this appointment. The part time annual salary range for this position is $37,050-$65,000; according to candidate's qualifications and experience, and the division's requirements.
