The Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Medicine at West Virginia University Research Corporation is currently accepting applications for a Laboratory Technician.

About the Opportunity

We would like to hire a full-time technician to assist with research endeavors. We are aiming to maintain or increase the productivity of the lab. Maintaining our workforce is critical to our productivity.

What You'll Do



  • Conduct primary laboratory research
  • Maintaining mammalian cell cultures
  • Performing experiments using mammalian cells
  • Fluorescence microscopy
  • Conducting their own independent research projects in the lab
  • Molecular biology (cloning and PCR)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in biochemistry, biology or related field.
  • A minimum of six (6) months of experience in the following:

    • Working in a research lab


  • Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience will be considered.
  • All qualifications must be met by the time of employment.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities



  • Familiarity with molecular biology techniques
  • Fluorescence microscopy
  • Mammalian cell culture.
  • Training will be provided.

The WVURC was created as a not-for-profit corporation in 1985 to support research (R1) at West Virginia University. We provide evaluation, development, patenting, management, and marketing services for inventions of the faculty, staff and students of the University.
