Please note that this position is based in San Diego, CA. Acadia's hybrid model requires this role to work in our office three days per week on average.

Facilities Manager will be responsible for directing and overseeing all functions of the organization associated with facilities maintenance, equipment repair, including safety and environmental compliance programs. Position will schedule and supervise all employees and contractors working on maintenance of buildings and systems that maintain the operations of the facility. Analyzes and determines the overall advantage of requests for facility improvements and equipment. Position includes assisting with facility remodeling and expansion projects. Including assistance in design of areas, expansion, space planning, contacting specific trades and general contractors for project discussions and job-walks, solicitation of project quotes, analysis of quotes to ensure project scope is met. This position will also require some travel between the New Jersey and San Diego locations.

Primary Responsibilities:

Facilities



  • Performs routine maintenance within the facilities including painting, patching, basic HVAC, and electrical repairs.
  • Initiates and monitors mechanical repairs and maintenance for HVAC and Energy Management System (EMS).
  • Ensures vendor service contracts are followed and builds good working relationships with vendors.
  • Monitors and ensures a high standard of quality for janitorial services.
  • Assists with building facility projects including facility design and construction, furnishing and space planning.
  • Aids with scheduled department/facility moves, coordinating with IT, moving, furniture and equipment vendors, to ensure smooth and timely transitions.
  • Assist with start-up and/or decommissioning of facility space.
  • Participates in space planning projects with Facilities Director and Department heads.
  • Works cross functionally and provides direction for corporate events and meeting set-ups.
  • Acts as liaison to the landlord on routine facility issues, submission of tickets and COI's
  • Manage Facility Service Ticketing system with IT (Service Now)
  • Responsible for building access and security system


Environmental Health & Safety



  • Develops and supports programs and procedures to meet facility objectives and targets with the environmental health, safety, and security functions of the organization.
  • Key focus points include:
  • Accident Prevention
  • EHS Regulatory Compliance
  • Waste Minimization
  • Coordinates all EHS training; trains and updates employees in use of MSDS sheets, hazard communication, emergency response plan, and building evacuation procedures.
  • Assist with coordination & management of Safety Committee Meetings
  • Supports and manages corrective actions from EHS audits.
  • Function as onsite contact for all Cal-OSHA actions.
  • Inspects or tours organization facilities to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards and recommends corrective or preventative measures where indicated.
  • Investigates all accidents and near misses, coordinating with P&P on Workers Compensation claims.
  • Performs all applicable EHS reporting requirements in a timely and accurate manner. Maintains necessary EHS records.


Education/Experience/Skills:

Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and applicable job experience may be considered. A minimum of 8 years' progressively responsible related experience with some previous supervisory experience. Prior experience with Facilities, EH&S required. Experience in Biotech or Pharma industry strongly preferred. US DOT Hazmat training required. Prior experience facilitating organizational moves required.



  • Proficient in the use of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Windows, Internet.
  • Familiarity with CAD system to manage facility maps, seating assignments and construction changes.
  • Experience with building maintenance systems such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, security.
  • Familiarity with State of California rules, regulations, codes for managing the environmental, health, and safety programs.
  • Ability and willingness to perform basic maintenance chores such as painting and basic plumbing repairs.
  • Ability to assess contract compliance and product/service quality, organize resources and establish priorities as well as develop, and implement short- and long-range goals.
  • Demonstrated ability to think logically in resolving problems or conflicting instructions and present results neatly, with clarity and precision in oral and written form.
  • Skilled at effectively communicating department or area issues and results within and across functional areas and conducting presentations of technical information concerning specific projects or timelines. Able to gain cooperation of others.
  • Skilled at effectively leading a cooperative team effort and organizing resources to achieve team goals. Able to make and prioritize process and resource decisions based on overall team needs.


Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, see, talk, or hear in a standard office environment. Employee requires the ability to lift and relocate with cart up to 50 lbs. (cases of copier paper) as needed.

In addition to a competitive base salary, this position is also eligible for discretionary bonus and equity awards based on factors such as individual and organizational performance. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance, and location.

Salary Range
$94,000 - $117,800 USD
