The mission of our Human Resources team is to cultivate Danone's unique culture and help the business sustainably grow. We are currently looking to hire a Plant Human Resources Director based in West Jordan, Utah! In this role, you will support a flagship manufacturing operation in the Salt Lake City, Utah Metropolitan Area. The West Jordan, Utah plant is a unionized facility comprised of approximately 305 team members, producing fresh yogurt products. In this role, you will build strategic organizational capability across the business and collaborate with plant business leaders and HR COEs to support and lead site labor & employee relations, recruitment, talent management, culture and the facilitation of various HR programs. The Plant Human Resources Director will lead through collaboration and proximity and will serve as an ambassador for the business the point-of-contact for all plant associates and leaders. The Plant Human Resources Director will lead a team of three HR professionals and report directly to the Sr. HR Director of Manufacturing, with a strong dotted line reporting to the Sr. Plant Director.

Additional responsibilities:

    Partner with leadership to develop and execute a long-term strategic plan for the plant.
  • Manage complex employee relations & labor relations matters, including investigations, grievances and ethics complaints.
  • Provide support and coaching to mitigate risk for the company and ensure employee rights.
  • Support employee engagement related initiatives, assess culture and enhance overall employee experience and business performance.
  • Drive talent pipeline by forecasting and planning site needs to align with business strategy.
  • Lead annual HR Cycle for the plant, (Objective Setting, Talent Review, Mid-Year, Talent Development Plans, Annual Salary Review, etc.)

About You

  • You have a bachelor's degree required. Master's degree in business, HR, industrial relations, or related field is preferred. An HR Certification (SPHR/SHRM-SCP) is preferred.
  • You have 7+ years of HR experience in a unionized environment, required.
  • You have 5+ years of HR experience in an industrial environment, required.
  • You have 7+ years of exempt level / HR Leadership experience, required.
  • You have a minimum of 10 yrs. of progressively responsible HR experience supporting diverse client groups.
  • You possess excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • You have project management experience, preferred.
  • You are a flexible and have the ability to travel and work off-hours and/or weekends, as business needs dictate.
  • Preferred: You have experience with Integrated Work Systems (IWS) with a proven ability to apply IWS methodologies to enhance operational efficiency, workforce engagement, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • You possess a proven track record of building high performance teams, driving engagement, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • You have demonstrated ability to lead, influence, and develop diverse teams at all levels of the organization.
  • You have ability to navigate complex challenges while motivating and empowering others to achieve business results.
  • You have experience building and leveraging strong relationships and using influence and persuasion to inspire diverse teams and drive results.
  • You possess the ability to deal with ambiguity and adapt to fast-changing business needs.
  • You lead with respect, confidence and managerial courage in challenging environments.
  • You possess a comprehensive working knowledge and understanding of Labor Relations and HR principles, policies, processes and technology.
  • You have demonstrated ability to build quantifiable metrics, while analyzing and interpreting data.
  • You have commitment to continuous improvement, developing best practices and finding solutions.
  • You can demonstrate an understanding of business performance, strategy, trends and needs.
