At Danone, Manufacturing the best products and supplying them to meet demand is a key driver for our plant teams. We are currently looking to hire a Maintenance Mechanic based in Portland, OR!

Why work here?

    Starting wage range: $30 - $40/per hour
  • **Sign on bonus: $2000 paid in 3 installments ($500 at 30 days, $500 at 90 days, and $1000 at 12 months)**
  • Shift: Swing or Graveyard
  • Work schedule could include days between Sunday through Friday (with 2 or 3 day weekends)
  • Shift differential pay from 3:30 pm - 4:30 am
  • Annual tool allowance
  • Pay for Performance: incentive bonus annually

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • You will troubleshooting mechanical breakdowns in manufacturing production equipment
  • You will need to rapidly assess, analyze, and resolve complicated problems with little initial information or direction and with varying degrees of ambiguity
  • You will be competent in electrical troubleshooting, equipment repair, preventative and predictive maintenance in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.
  • You will demonstrate your ability to communicate and work as a team with other key personnel within the operation
  • You will ensure you work with personal safety, food safety, and environmental standards, at tope of mind. This includes following all established maintenance processes to adhere and uphold all plant technical standards and ensure company compliance with all federal, state, local and company regulations


About You

  • You will have a High School diploma or GED
  • You will have 2-4 years of maintenance experience in a food production/manufacturing environment, repairing and troubleshooting mechanical issues on packaging and/or filling equipment, and other food processing equipment
  • You will have previous experience with high speed production equipment, Evergreen packaging equipment is a plus. Previous dairy, food and beverage industry maintenance experience strongly desired
  • You will have previous experience in a combination of the following areas: PLC, instrumentation, pumps, mechanical, pneumatic, motors, electrical, hydraulic, lubrication, HVAC, refrigeration, freezers, compressors, utilities, boilers and ammonia based systems
