Position Summary

Administers the delivery of services related to recruitment for appointment-based roles, as well as all activities related to out of state, and out of country work arrangements. Provides guidance on visa categories, eligibility criteria, and documentation requirements. Assists with the preparation and submission of visa applications, petitions, and renewals. Serve as a resource for employees regarding visa status and related immigration matters. Processes a wide range of appointment and employment actions assigned. Serves as liaison between employees, department administrators, and University Offices. Handles logistics and participates in various HR programs as assigned including the PILC summer internship program. Provides recruitment support for non-appointment based roles. Troubleshoots payroll/appointment inquires. Provides analytical support including compiling data information requests and/or statistical reports and salary histories. Collects data from systems and organizes it in a helpful fashion.



Qualifications

Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree

Required Experience:
2+ years relevant experience in human resources or customer service, including navigating basic administrative policies and procedures.

Preferred Experience:
Experience in a human resources in an academic environment.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent organizational, problem solving, computer/technical and customer service skills. Knowledge of HR policies, procedures and systems and exercise professionalism, attention to detail, and sound judgment in responding to routine and general HR inquiries. Ability to interpret and effectively communicate policies and procedures to a diverse employee population. Demonstrated discretion and judgment with confidential and sensitive information. Proficiency with spreadsheet applications and strong knowledge of database applications.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Proficiency with Microsoft Suite including Access database, Google Suite, and various HRIS systems such as Workday, JDXpert, iCIMS, and Interfolio Familiarity with legal processes and documentation.



Additional Information

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $70,000.00 to USD $79,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
