Overview
DecisionPoint Corporation is seeking a Cybersecurity Expert to join our team on an upcoming Enterprise Security Architecture (ESA) Support Program for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). This position will play a crucial role in advancing the cybersecurity posture of the VA by contributing to security architecture development, risk management, and integrating advanced cybersecurity practices.
Duties & Responsibilities
Lead the development and implementation of cybersecurity architectures, including Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA), Trusted Internet Connection (TIC) 3.0, and DevSecOps frameworks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, assess, and refine cybersecurity measures, ensuring compliance with NIST, CISA, and OMB guidelines.
- Provide expertise in securing mobile technologies, medical devices, and cloud environments to protect sensitive VA systems and data.
- Perform risk assessments, identifying vulnerabilities and recommending remediation strategies to mitigate potential threats.
- Develop reference architectures and design patterns to guide cybersecurity implementations across the VA enterprise.
- Support the VA's ESA program by aligning cybersecurity policies and strategies with federal mandates and executive orders.
- Contribute to the creation of secure workflows for IT systems by integrating security practices into the development lifecycle.
- Maintain awareness of emerging cybersecurity trends, ensuring continuous improvement of security protocols and practices.
Qualifications
- Active or ability to obtain a Department of Veterans Affairs Public Trust clearance.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in cybersecurity architecture, risk analysis, and security framework implementation.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field (Master's preferred).
- In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, including NIST SP 800-53, FISMA, TIC 3.0, ZTA, and RMF.
- Proven experience in designing secure IT systems for federal agencies, particularly within the healthcare or government sectors.
- Expertise in cybersecurity technologies, including SIEM, endpoint protection, mobile device security, and cloud security solutions.
- Strong understanding of federal cybersecurity policies and directives (e.g., NIST, OMB, CISA).
- Experience with medical device security and securing hybrid cloud environments is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to lead technical discussions with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
