Overview

DecisionPoint Corporation is seeking a Senior Technical Writer to join our team on an upcoming contract supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Enterprise Security Architecture (ESA) program. The successful candidate will play a key role in creating and maintaining clear, accurate, and comprehensive documentation for complex technical subjects related to cybersecurity, trusted internet connections (TIC 3.0), Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA), DevSecOps, mobile technologies, and medical devices.



Duties & Responsibilities

    Develop, edit, and maintain technical documentation, including system manuals, user guides, white papers, and reference architectures, ensuring accuracy and clarity for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Work closely with cybersecurity engineers and subject matter experts to gather information and translate complex technical concepts into easily understandable language.
  • Produce documentation that aligns with federal cybersecurity standards (NIST, CISA, OMB) and VA-specific requirements.
  • Support the creation of reference materials for Zero Trust Architecture, Trusted Internet Connection 3.0, and mobile technology security.
  • Collaborate with the development team to integrate DevSecOps methodologies into documentation processes and ensure alignment with secure software development practices.
  • Assist in documenting risk assessments, security design patterns, and compliance with federal and industry security frameworks.
  • Ensure all technical documents meet high standards of quality and consistency, reflecting the latest updates in government and industry cybersecurity policies.


Qualifications

  • Active or ability to obtain a Department of Veterans Affairs Public Trust clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical writing, with a focus on cybersecurity or enterprise security architecture.
  • Strong familiarity with federal cybersecurity standards (NIST SP 800-53, TIC 3.0, ZTA, and OMB directives).
  • Demonstrated experience in writing for DevSecOps, mobile technologies, and cybersecurity architecture development.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts for diverse audiences.
  • Experience collaborating with engineers and technical teams to produce accurate documentation.
  • Proficiency in using documentation tools and platforms for creating and maintaining technical documents.
