Job Description

Danfoss in Loves Park, IL is searching for a Mechanical Engineering Intern to work with the New Product Development team during Summer 2025. This internship willallow the student to gain experience and assist in variousproduct development activities including working with a team in a product development role, design assumption, design skills, test definition, test operation and documentation.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following.



  • Participate indesign team activities that include team and individual tasks
  • Support for engineering build and test within an active design team
  • Work with cross functional team for ongoing product development
  • Work within the product design group for identified development task to completion and provide information to support report/documentation
  • Work with an external vendors to support part procurement
  • The laboratory environment includes 3-phase high voltage systems, 0-690 Volts, 2000 amps.
  • Lock Out/Tag Out and Arc Flash training is provided.

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering with junior status or higher.
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
  • Solid modeling from concept to final part and completion for use considered an advantage

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Proven ability to multi-task and prioritize projects.
  • Ability to communicate effectively through written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
